For decades, the Doucet Family has honoured the art of winemaking, beginning with Patrice Doucet and his dedication to cultivating his vineyards. The vineyard’s strategic location, blessed by nature, exposes its vines to three distinct soil types: clay, limestone, and “Caillottes.” This unique terroir imparts an exquisite balance to their Sancerre Blanc, offering delightful fruit notes intertwined with outstanding minerality.

The story of Domaine Doucet Paul & Fils is one of transformation. What was once a humble local farm, with cattle breeding and mixed farming, blossomed into a viticultural haven in 1975 when Paul Doucet and his elder brother shifted their focus entirely to winemaking. Starting with a modest 5 hectares, the estate rapidly expanded to 9 hectares in the 1980s.

In 1995, a new chapter began as Paul’s son, Patrick, assumed leadership, supported by the invaluable guidance of his mother, Jacqueline. The Doucet family’s dedication to their craft led to the current expanse of 12 hectares, with 87% of Sauvignon grapes shaping the iconic Sancerre white and 13% of Pinot Noir defining the Sancerre red and rosé.

A decade ago, Patrick embraced a vision of sustainability, steering the vineyard towards an integrated approach. This transformation involved minimising chemical herbicides and treatments, nurturing the soil, and customising fertilisation for each plot – always tuned in to the ever-changing weather. The result: a harmonious fusion of tradition and innovation, embodied in every bottle of Domaine Doucet Paul & Fils wine.
